JORDAN PONTICELLI says the takeover of Wrexham Football Club by two Hollywood A-listers is "bigger than you could ever imagine".

Actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are expected to complete their deal to become owners at The Racecourse in the next week.

The duo's interest in the famous north Wales came after Ponticelli, who was on loan with the Reds last season, made his move from Coventry City permanent in the summer.

Ponticelli did not expect the owners-elect to be so high profile but the striker is looking forward to being part of an exciting future for everyone connected with the club.

"It is an exciting time for everyone to be involved," said Ponticelli. "The players, fans, staff and people in the community.

"When I signed, obviously I wanted good things to happen for the club and myself but I didn't envisage any of this. Especially on this scale with two very well known celebrities.

"It is bigger than you could ever imagine and it gives everyone a lift which is needed for a club of this size and where it has been the last few years.

"It is definitely not where it deserves to be so hopefully this takeover can help the club get back to where it deserves to be."
