AFTER an unforgettable 2020 for Andy Morrison and his double-winning Connah’s Quay Nomads side, they will be there challenging again in the new year.

But I am going to stick my turkey neck out a little here by saying that Bala Town will pip Connah’s Quay to the title, with The New Saints in third.

Before the JD Cymru Premier was sadly brought to a halt again this weekend, Cefn Druids had turned a corner during recent weeks to give them a fighting chance of survival going into the new year. I can’t see it being enough unfortunately, but let’s hope that they prove me wrong.

Niall McGuinness has proven again that he is a great young manager. But I mean no disrespect by saying that Flint Town United made the best signing they could have made all season when they appointed Neil Gibson as manager.

His experience will make a big difference there. He’s won the Welsh Cup as Prestatyn Town manager, he’s been an assistant to Andy Morrison at Connah’s Quay, and he is well connected.

If he can strengthen his squad with two or three more players, not only will they survive, but I can see them being right in the battle for seventh place.
