LET'S hope that the new year will be another fabulous one for the national team.

In 2020, we got to see some really exciting youngsters get the chance to perform on the world stage in the red shirt.

Next year, we have a small competition to look forward to – the Euros. Whatever happens, it is going to be a fantastic experience for our squad. It is not the same squad as we had in 2016, these are new kids on the block.

I think Joe Rodon will be at the forefront for us. He has the look of a real leader and now that he’s playing in the Premier League and training with the likes of Harry Kane every day, he is someone who will continue to grow, and I’m really looking forward to seeing Wales reap those benefits.

Another one who I think could make his mark for Wales this year is Tyler Roberts. He hasn’t fulfilled his promise yet for Wales, but I feel there is so much more to come from him. He’s a fantastic talent who will continue to develop at Leeds United under Marcelo Bielsa – one of the best managers in the world, according to Pep Guardiola.

There is a lot of talent in this squad and I believe we will surprise a lot of people with how far we will get next summer.

It’s been an unpredictable 2020 for all mankind, to say the least, and everyone has been affected by this pandemic in one way or another.

So enjoy the festive season with a drink in your hand, looking forward to 2021. Like Gary Barlow says, let’s hope it’s incredible.
