IT wasn't pretty viewing and losing a penalty shoot-out completed an embarrassing afternoon for Wrexham.
Dean Keates' side were knocked out of the FA Trophy by National League North outfit Leamington who won 6-5 on penalties in the third round tie at The Racecourse.
A forgettable 90 minutes saw a much-changed Wrexham side squander a couple of half-chances in the first period but the Brakes were the better side after the break without creating too many opportunities.
A shoot-out was the least Leamington deserved and both teams converted their first five spot-kicks.
Wrexham had a chance to win it when the Brakes missed the first sudden death penalty but goalkeeper Jake Weaver saved James Horsfield's effort.
And after Jack Edwards scored the next spot-kick, Anthony Jeffrey saw his attempt saved by Weaver as Leamington progressed to round four.
