DEAN KEATES is keeping his Wrexham squad grounded despite the fact they will soon be playing for a club owned by two Hollywood A-listers.

The club announced on Monday that actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have been successful in their takeover bid and the duo should take control at The Racecourse in the next few weeks.

Just 24 hours later and Wrexham secured a hard-fought 1-0 win at Hartlepool and Keates felt his players have showed they will not be affected by what is happening around them amid huge interest in the Reds from around the world.

"It has been a great 48 hours for the club and the history, and we have started off the next chapter with a 1-0 win," said Keates.

When asked if off-field distractions could have had an impact, Keates added: "No, because it has not got into the group that much.

"We have had brief conversations about it and as I have always said, we can't control the uncontrollables. We are in the football department."
