WREXHAM returned to action for the first time in three weeks by beating Hartlepool United 1-0 at Victoria Park on Tuesday night.

It was a hard fought win - a day after it was announced that Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney will become the new owners at The Racecourse - secured thanks to Elliott Durrell's superb 54th minute strike.

Dean Keates' side were put under late pressure but held on to clinch three points and end a run of four games without a win.

Here's how the Reds' players rated:

ROB LAINTON: Made a couple of key first half saves to keep Wrexham in the game. 6

JAMES HORSFIELD: Found Luke Molyneux a tricky customer but stuck to his task. 6

FIACRE KELLEHER: Pools put Wrexham under pressure in the opening period but the defence held firm. 7

THEO VASSELL: Managed to prevent home side taking lead when on top and helped Wrexham keep a clean sheet. 7

JAMIE RECKORD: Sound defensively and was more of an attacking outlet in the second half. 6

PAUL RUTHERFORD: The winger came more into the game in the second half. 6

JAY HARRIS: Tried to get Wrexham going and the captain put in a good shift as always. 6

LUKE YOUNG: Did his best to get his foot on the ball when Pools were on top. 6

ELLIOTT DURRELL: Had a couple of half chances first half but made no mistake after the restart, netting a brilliant goal. 7

KWAME THOMAS: Worked hard in attack and was rewarded by having an assist for Elliott Durrell’s superb strike. 7

JORDAN PONTICELLI: Took time to get back into his stride after returning from injury. 6
