JOHNNY HUNT has signed for National League North outfit Kettering Town.
Hunt was linked with a return to Wrexham - where he came through the academy to make over 100 appearances - this summer as Dean Keates looked to find a replacement for James Jennings, who headed to Stockport County.
A move failed to materialise and Hunt, who left Hamilton Academical at the end of last season, and he has now headed to the Paul Cox's Poppies.
A statement from Kettering, who were beaten 3-2 by Fylde on Wednesday, read: "We know last night still hurts, but allow us to try and bring some good, if not excellent news to your timelines! Former England C International Johnny Hunt has signed for the Poppies from Hamilton Academical!!"
