WREXHAM failed to build on Saturday's excellent 1-0 win at Yeovil after losing to Maidenhead United.
The Magpies were without a point after three games and arrived at The Racecourse sitting bottom of the table.
However, Alan Devonshire's men scored the only goal as Wrexham, who would have gone joint top with victory, produced a disappointing performance.
