INCONSISTENT Wrexham missed the chance to go joint top of the National League after suffering a disappointing 1-0 loss at home to Maidenhead United.

The bottom of the table Magpies arrived at The Racecourse sitting bottom of the table having lost their opening three games of the season.

Wrexham failed to play anywhere near as well as they did in Saturday's 1-0 victory at Yeovil and conceded the only goal in the first half.

The Reds had chances to equalise in the second half but the goal never arrived and Dean Keates' side once again followed up a win with a defeat.

Here's how the players rated:

ROB LAINTON: Made a crucial first half save but was beaten minutes later. 6

JORDAN PONTICELLI: Made his first start of the season and had opportunities to score, having goal ruled out for offside. 6

KWAME THOMAS: Missed chances to add to Saturday's goal before going off after an hour. 6

ELLIOTT DURRELL: Lively display playing on the left of the front three and put himself about. 6
