THREE selfless youngsters will be taking on an unusual challenge to raise money and awareness for a national food bank charity.

The group, who will be led by the brother-duo of Adam and Callum Hold, will be taking part in a 177-mile walk from Prestatyn to Cardiff to raise funds for the Trussell Trust, who are working towards ending the need for Food Banks across the United Kingdom.

The three-strong group will be pushing a trolley for the duration of the challenge, and they will also be wearing fancy dress surrounding a food theme to further raise awareness to their fundraising efforts.

More than £400 has already been raised after they set an initial target of £375.

Callum is a current member of the RGC Rugby Academy system and is a promising young prospect, with the Gogs’ also putting out a message of their support on their social media channels recently.

A statement on Callum’s JustGiving page, read: “Me and a team will be completing this challenge dressed as an item of food. Not only this but we will be pushing a trolley that will be filled with food to donate to a food bank when we reach Cardiff.

“After such a difficult year for everybody, I decided I needed to give a helping hand to those in need the most, while giving myself a challenge.

“Last year, food banks in our network provided more than 1.6 million emergency food parcels to people in crisis.

“More than half a million of these went to children. It’s not right that people can’t afford the basics.

“As a nation, we expect no one should be left hungry or destitute. Illness, disability, family breakdown or the loss of a job can happen to any of us.”
