ADI YUSSUF has vowed to repeat his Solihull goalscoring form and the striker believes he has got the players around him at Wrexham to do it.

The Tanzania international has joined Wrexham on a season-long loan from Blackpool who he joined in the summer of 2019 following an impressive spell with Moors.

Yussuf scored 21 goals in 54 games for Solihull in all competitions during the 2018-19 campaign, helping the Damson Park outfit finish National League runners-up behind champions Leyton Orient.

That earned Yussuf his switch to Blackpool where he found it difficult to break into the first team but the 28-year-old is determined to get back to what he does best and be a regular on the scoresheet.

"That is the aim and I will give everything in my power on and off the pitch to bring the goals, and help other players do well," said Yussuf.

"I just want to score as many goals as possible to push us up to promotion.

"I had good players around me at Solihull and it is a lot easier to score when you have got good players around you.

"I see it in this team at Wrexham that I have got good players around me so I am sure it will go well."

Yussuf, who has followed former Solihull team-mates Jamie Reckord and Kwame Thomas to The Racecourse, is one of eight new summer signings made by Reds' boss Dean Keates.

And the frontman says Keates was a huge influence in him making the switch to Wrexham who are preparing for a 13th season in non-league.

"Jamie was on the phone to me for the past week!" said Yussuf. "I know Jay Harris and Shaun Pearson as well so that helped.

"But the main one was the gaffer. He believes in me.

"I have always done well when the gaffer has believed in me and given me support and everything I need on and off the pitch. All I can do is show him my appreciation on the pitch and give back."
