JORDAN DAVIES is excited to 'prove himself' to Wrexham fans after returning to the Reds on a two-year deal.

The 22-year-old is back at The Racecourse after leaving Premier League outfit Brighton earlier this summer.

Davies graduated from the Wrexham academy, but failed to make a first-team appearance before heading to the Amex Stadium in 2017 after a successful loan spell with Bangor City in the Cymru Premier.

And Davies, who has spent time training with Flint Town United to keep his fitness levels up, is relishing the chance to make a mark on the Wrexham first-team, revealing that he's a different player to the one that headed south over three years ago.

“I’m really excited to prove myself to the fans after not being able to get out there and play last time I was here," said Davies, who made a handful of EFL Trophy appearances for Brighton.

“I’m a different player. I’ve played in new positions, different styles of training, more intense training and training at the highest level. I’m a new player.

“I’ve become more of an attacking player; I try and get a goal here and there, mainly assists, but I’d like to add more goals to my game.

"I just want to get out there and play as many matches as I can.”

Davies is Wrexham's fifth signing of the summer after Jamie Reckord, Reece Hall-Johnson, Elliott Durrell and Jordan Ponticelli.
