REECE HALL-JOHNSON "can't wait to get started" after signing a one-year deal with Wrexham.

The right-back becomes Dean Keates' fourth signing of the summer after leaving Northampton Town, following Jamie Reckord, Elliott Durrell and Jordan Ponticelli in heading to The Racecourse.

Hall-Johnson said: “I can’t wait to get started. It’s been a long break for a lot of clubs, and I can’t wait to get on the pitch and play some football.

“I’m excited to play and do well this year. Hopefully, I’ll bring positivity.

"The team obviously wants to be in the top half of the table, and wants to be promoted and that’s what I want to achieve.

"I’m raring to go.”

The 25-year-old is a former Norwich City academy graduate, playing a part in their FA Youth Cup winning team in 2013.

Hall-Johnson eventually arrived at League Two Grimsby in 2017 after a successful time with Braintree.

A move to Keith Curle's Northampton followed after a loan spell with Wrexham's cross-border rivals Chester, before his release this summer.

Talking to the Cambs Times last month, Hall-Johnson said: “As a professional footballer, I want to play at the highest level I can possibly play at and win as many leagues as possible. But most importantly, I want to look back and say I enjoyed it.

“You never know as a player where your next club is going to be, but I’m sure I will find out soon.”
