DAVE ROBERTS has been confirmed as the man to replace Phil Hudson in the Brymbo hotseat.

Roberts heads to Brymbo after four seasons in charge of New Brighton Villa, where he developed a reputation as a fantastic young manager.

After he was confirmed as Brymbo boss, Roberts told the club's official website: "I'm absolutely delighted to be here at Brymbo. I'd been at New Brighton for a very long time and it would have taken something extremely special for me to leave in terms of clubs and that something is Brymbo.

"I don't think I could have found a better club to be given this opportunity with."

Brymbo general manager, Chris Parry, who saw Hudson and Tommy Holmes head to Ruthin, said: "I am delighted we have brought Dave to the club. I was hugely impressed by his understanding of the game and I could tell after speaking to him for a few minutes, just how ambitious he is.

"It's an exciting period for club and also Welsh football and I believe Dave can help us achieve our goals."

Mold Alex, who will face Brymbo in the new-look North East tier three league, have kept hold of key duo Rhys Nash and Conner Kendrick for the 2020/21 season.

Captain Nash and striker Kendrick, who scored 14 goals in 16 games, are two important pieces of business for Mold boss Mike Cunningham.

Cunningham was delighted to keep hold of his skipper, saying: "Nashy has once again shown he is loyalty to the club, with many offers on the table, it's very pleasing he believes in this squad and what we are trying to achieve.

"He has really been the mainstay of the team in previous seasons and next season will be no different."

On Kendrick putting pen-to-paper for next season, Cunningham said: "It's fantastic for the club to have Conner with us again. He quickly became an integral part of the squad on and off the pitch.

"Conner had numerous offers on the table elsewhere, so it shows we are moving in the right direction with him committing to club again."

Dean Hughes is onboard for Halkyn and Flint Mountain's North East Wales League title push.

Hughes has accepted manager Rob Marshall's offer to become the club's new head coach for the 2020/21 campaign, moving from the pitch to the dugout.

And the club have confirmed their first two signings of the summer with former Holywell Town and Flint Town United man Phil Lloyd and ex-Silkmen youngster Alex Goundrey putting pen-to-paper.
