CONWY Borough manager Matthew Jones is expecting big things from recent arrival James Bell.

The player will linkup once again with the Tangerines’ boss for their upcoming JD Cymru North campaign, with the pair working together for wound-up Rhyl during their time in the top flight.

Bell brings a wealth of experience at Y Morfa and was most recently part of the Nantlle Vale set-up in Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One.

His progress was hampered with a serious injury that requires substantial rehabilitation, but Jones is confident Bell can return to his old self and be a tremendous asset to a Borough side that ended the second-tier campaign in sixth spot.

Jones, said: “James is another very strong addition to the group and I’m delighted to be linking up with him again.

“I worked with James at Rhyl where he was a regular in the Welsh Premier League. He has recovered from a serious injury and is now looking to really kick on.”

Bell could not hide his delight after securing the move, and he will further bolster a squad that has been strengthened considerably this summer.

Tommy Creamer and Rory Crowther both joined the squad following their time with Rhyl, prolific striker Meilir Williams is getting the chance to prove his worth at a higher level after joining from Blaenau Amateurs, and experienced defender Gerwyn Jones is another that has agreed terms.

“I’m buzzing to have signed for the club and can’t wait to work under Matty again,” added Bell.

“I’m really excited to start the season and hopefully help the lads push on from the excellent campaign they had last season.

“Conwy is a massive club and I can’t wait to get going, once it is safe to do so of course.”
