EDDIE MAURICE-JONES is 'privileged' to be back at Gresford Athletic as first-team manager.

The Wrexham-based Cymru North outfit announced that Richard Capper and assistant Nick Ward had left, before announcing the return of Maurice-Jones, who will work with first-team coach Alun Williams and director of football Steve Halliwell.

"To be given the opportunity to return to my local club, where it all started, is a privilege and I look forward to working with the staff, players and committee," said Maurice-Jones, who returns to Gresford after spells in charge of Denbigh and Rhyl.

Gresford chairman Julian Davies was pleased to secure the return of Maurice-Jones, saying: "I am absolutely delighted with the appointment of Eddie as first-team manager after much negotiation from myself and Steve Halliwell.

"Eddie will bring great experience that he has gained in the four years away from the club, along with Alun Williams' experience, and will be an attractive prospect for many players.

"This appointment will allow the club to grow and realise their potential. I'm sure Steve, Eddie and Alun will make an exceptional team and I am really looking forward to and excited for the upcoming season."
