DEAN KEATES does not expect Wrexham to play again this season leaving the Reds' boss to turn his attention to planning for the future.

The campaign has been suspended indefinitely with the National League board now focussed on deciding how to award promotion and relegation.

"It looks like the season has come to an end," said Keates. "They have basically underlined that with what they have said."

If fixtures aren't completed, Wrexham are safe from relegation and Keates' next step will be looking ahead to next season and compiling a retained list as well as identifying transfer targets.

"There are six already under contract and there is a decision to be made on the rest who are out of contract," said Keates.

"As a football club we will have to look at what we need to bring in and recruit, and we need to make sure it is the right characteristics that come in.

"There are second year scholars here who have done well, they have been involved in the Scottish Challenge Cup games.

"I have got to take stock of everything now the season has more likely ended up finishing and make sure what we go with next season is the best available for us."
