WE owe them one. That’s the opinion of Steve O’Shaughnessy as Airbus head into a crunch relegation ‘six-pointer’ against Penybont.

Two of Penybont’s five victories this season have come against fellow top-flight newcomers Airbus, who followed up a 3-1 away defeat by losing 2-1 at the Airfield.

But that home loss came with Airbus forced to field defender Sam Hart in goal with Dave Roberts and Lewis Hall sidelined through injury and an emergency loan move falling through at the 11th hour.

Airbus are back to somewhere close to a fully fit squad with only George Peers and Brady McGilloway definitely ruled out of Saturday’s home meeting.

And O’Shaughnessy declared: “We owe them one. Like the Carmarthen game it’s a must not lose fixture, but we are going out to win like we did against Carmarthen.

“We should have beaten Penybont the last time we played them, but we were forced to put Sam in goal and losing so late on was tough to take.

“Penybont aren’t a bad team though and we know that we need to match the levels we did against Carmarthen.”

Airbus head into the encounter on the back of a 3-1 success at Carmarthen, Niall Watson’s brace either side of a goal from Oli Lanceley, secured a priceless three points.

Despite victory, Airbus remain bottom of the table, four points adrift of Penybont, who occupy the final place outside of the drop zone.

Penybont boss Rhys Griffiths is looking to make it three successive wins against Airbus as he look to strengthen his side’s bid to beat the drop.

He said: “Both matches against them have been tight, but we’ve managed to come out on top in both and we will be fighting to do the same again.”

Carmarthen, who sit between Airbus and Penybont, head to Aberystwyth on Friday night with boss Kristian O’Leary focused solely on the Old Gold’s survival battle.

The former Swansea and Wrexham midfielder declared: “I’m not interesting in other teams, I’m interested in Carmarthen Town and all I can effect is what happens at Carmarthen Town.

“People talk about this, that and the other, but I don’t care. I care about Carmarthen Town.

“The players know that and I know that our destiny is in our own hands.”
