WE’RE all in it together. Those are the words of Steve O’Shaughnessy as Airbus look to give their survival hopes a huge boost tomorrow.

The Wingmakers currently prop up the top-flight, trailing second from bottom Penybont and Carmarthen, who they tackle this weekend, by four points.

But with 21 points to play for and their nearest rivals to play four times between now and the end of the season, Airbus boss O’Shaughnessy and his squad are up for the fight.

“We are looking forward to the trip to Carmarthen,” said O’Shaughnessy. “It’s a massive game for both clubs. If we win then we are right behind them again.”

Asked whether the game was a ‘must-win’ or ‘must-not-lose’, O’Shaughnessy was playing his cards close to his chest.

“We’ve got to play Carmarthen again at home and Penybont twice,” he replied. “We don’t know what will happen over the rest of the season and there are still 21 points to play for, which is a lot.

“We don’t want to get beat down there, and obviously it would be nice to get all three points.”

Jordan Evans is set to return for Airbus, who are only missing the suspended Brady McGilloway from an otherwise full strength squad.

It gives O’Shaughnessy and trusted assistants Andrew Thomas and Mark Allen a welcome selection headache.

“It’s the first time this season that we’ve got some decisions to make,” said O’Shaughnessy. “It’s a big plus to have everyone but Brady available after an awful run of injuries, illness and suspensions.

“But we’ve got a good set of lads here and we can’t make excuses for our positions, because we are down there for a reason and it’s up to us to put things right.”

O’Shaughnessy and his squad can expect few surprises at Richmond Park from Kristian O’Leary’s Old Gold, the Wingmakers boss adding: “They are strong and physical and since the new manager has gone in there they’ve played a bit more football, so we know what they are about and what to expect.

“We showed our character last time we went there by coming back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2, which showed good character and that we are all in it together.”

Airbus will be hoping for a favour from play-off chasing Cardiff Met this evening as they make their way to Rhys Griffiths’s battling Penybont.
