WREXHAM striker Leighton McIntosh has joined National League North side Blyth Spartans on loan until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old, who signed for the Reds from Airdrie in the summer, has been out of favour since Dean Keates was appointed manager in October.

McIntosh made 13 league and cup appearances for Wrexham, scoring three goals.

One of those came in the National League when Wrexham were beaten 2-1 by Stockport on August 31 with the frontman also bagging a brace in the 4-1 Scottish Challenge Cup victory over St Mirren Colts.
