RUTHLESS Connah's Quay Nomads brushed aside the challenge of Afan Lido to reach the last eight.

Hat-tricks from Michael Bakare and Michael Wilde were added to by Jamie Insall and George Horan as last season's beaten finalists cruised to an 8-0 home win.

"We were very good," declared Nomads boss Morrison. "We showed them the upmost respect. We've watched them twice, we had all the details on their strengths.

"We were very good, we were ruthless - after we got the first goal because we had three or four chances before that.

"It would have taken a very good team to come here and stop us when we are that relentless and we are asking so many questions in so many different ways.

"We were going forward quickly, we were putting balls into their box, we've got a long throw and we were passing through them.

"When we are like that we will be a very difficult team to beat.

"We are pleased with a clean sheet. Lewis has pulled off a save, tipping the ball onto the post, at 1-0 and then we go and score the second - then it's really game over.

"I'm delighted and we move on quickly."

Morrison was not overly happy with a section of the Afan Lido support, who chose to stand close to his technical area.

He added: "They chose to stand behind our dugout and it starts off as friendly banter, which I enjoy. But I've got to listen to that and be as professional as I can."
