CONNAH'S QUAY NOMADS' fine form has been rewarded with nominations in the December manager and player of the month awards.

Boss Andy Morrison is in the running for the Cymru Premier manager honour alongside The New Saints' Scott Ruscoe and Newtown's Chris Hughes, while Danny Holmes has been shortlisted for the player award.

The versatile Holmes, comfortable across the back-line, will compete with Bala's Chris Venables, Kieran Mills-Evans of Newtown and TNS' striker Greg Draper.

Morrison helped Nomads to four wins from five outings in all competitions during December as the Flintshire outfit made progress in the Welsh Cup and continued their pursuit of leaders The New Saints.

Holmes, who celebrated his 31st birthday on Monday, played in the four league matches during December, scoring in the 4-0 victory over Flintshire rivals Airbus.

Corwen goalkeeper Dylan Jones is in the running for the Cymru North player of the month for December after he caught the eye between the posts for Sion Tudor Jones' men.

Jones is battling it out with Prestatyn ace Rob Hughes, formerly of Nomads, Ruthin hotshot Llyr Morris and Llanrhaeadr's Khyam Whitton.

The form of Hughes, Morris and Whitton has helped their respective managers earn nominations for the top boss award in December.

Prestatyn's Neil Gibson, Ruthin's Chris Hardy and Llanrhaeadr's Lee Green will compete against Colwyn Bay boss Craig Hogg for the manager award.
