EVERTON v ARSENAL

NICK HARRISON: The Toffees will be licking their lips with the soft-centred Gunners heading their way. Big Dunc will have his side fired up and a win will do his job prospects no harm at all. 3-1

TOM NORRIS: This is the perfect game for Big Dunc’s Toffees. The Gunners are as fragile as ever and their defence is nothing short of a shambles, especially with their current injury problems. 2-0

DAN HEALD: All credit to Duncan Ferguson who, you imagine, the Everton players both fear and respect. Arsenal are in freefall and are there for the taking until their management and defensive issues are sorted. 2-1

ASTON VILLA v SOUTHAMPTON

NH: Villa should win but they have been poor in their last few games. The Saints look like a side going down but they may have enough to take home a point. 1-1

TN: Danny Ings will fancy a return to the scoresheet with Mings missing from the heart of Villa’s defence. It’s the sort of game Villa need to be winning though and the Saints’ defence is hardly watertight. Fancy a draw. 2-2

DH: Poor recent form makes this a must-win for Villa. Smith has the backing of the home faithful but an expectant crowd will demand three points against a Saints side who are equally desperate for a win. 2-1

BOURNEMOUTH v BURNLEY

NH: Both picked up much-needed 1-0 wins a week ago and it could be a case of first goal does it down south. The Cherries might just nick it. 1-0

TN: The Cherries used to be fun to watch, but they’ve changed. Burnley have always been efficient over entertaining and it’s hard to see a classic encounter. 1-1

DH: The win at Stamford Bridge must have lifted a Bournemouth side decimated by injuries. Dyche will demand that his side steady the ship with an away point and this could be a dour affair. 0-0

BRIGHTON v SHEFFIELD UNITED

NH: The Blades were back to their best against Villa and will fancy their chances of coming up with a gameplan to take at least a point from this. 1-1

TN: Wilder’s Blades remain unbeaten on the road this season, so they will make the trip south full of confidence, while Brighton have adapted to a new style under Potter. 1-2

DH: Brighton dominated possession against Palace and arguably deserved more than a point. The Blades have impressed of late too, but their fine away form could hit the buffers here. 2-1

NEWCASTLE UNITED v CRYSTAL PALACE

NH: Has a draw written all over it unless Almiron can create a bit of magic like Zaha did on Monday night. 1-1

TN: Palace will head north looking to sit in and frustrated a Newcastle team suited to playing on the counter. Don’t bank on many goals, if any. 0-0

DH: Palace looked devoid of ideas against Brighton until Zaha’s fine leveller. An extra couple of day’s rest could give the Geordies the edge here though and a solitary goal might be enough. 1-0

NORWICH CITY v WOLVES

NH: Wolves will still be hurting from their last-ditch defeat to Spurs but what better chance to use their counter-attack game to it’s full extent. 1-2

TN: Losing to a Spurs is no disgrace, but it’s how Wolves follow it up and a trip to Norwich isn’t a fixture to be afraid of, even if Pukki is back in the goals. 1-3

DH: Norwich have proved they can still hold their own in the top-flight, but they’ll need their wits about them to keep a canny Wolves side in check. 2-2

MANCHESTER CITY v LEICESTER CITY

NH: Could be the game to stop everyone getting too carried away with Leicester. City were as good as Arsenal were bad last Sunday but De Bruyne will again be the main man in Manchester. 3-1

TN: You can see why Rodgers has recently been linked with the Etihad top job once Pep goes, but the Foxes will have to be careful not to get caught out over-playing by that man De Bruyne in what is the game of the weekend. 2-2

DH: An early Christmas cracker for neutrals. De Bruyne was unplayable last weekend, and much of Leicester’s success will depend on Wilfred Ndidi and co. in the midfield engine room. 2-1

WATFORD v MANCHESTER UNITED

NH: Watford created great chances at Liverpool and they’ll get plenty of opportunities against a poor United side, who can’t seem to raise their game against the lesser teams. 1-2

TN: If Watford sit in then it could be a long afternoon for United, who rely on attacking the space left by their opposition at pace. Surely Pearson isn’t going to tell the Hornets to attack Ole’s men? Could be trouble if he does. 1-3

DH: Pearson’s Watford played without fear at Anfield, but the Hornets players would struggle to finish their dinner let alone find the net. Back Rashford and James to make the difference. 0-2

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR v CHELSEA

NH: Mourinho will take on his apprentice in the London derby where Son and Kane will make it a bad day for Lampard’s off-colour Blues. 3-1

TN: After losing at Old Trafford, Jose won’t want to suffer another defeat to a former club and that could spell danger for Lampard’s out of form Blues, who need a hand in January. 4-2

DH: Mourinho will enjoy home advantage against former club Chelsea, whose performances waiver between excellent and bang average. A resurgent Alli will get on the scoresheet. 2-1
