THE Deeside Diamonds came out on top in their local derby game against the Doves, with the win seeing them jump up to seventh in the Under 14s division of the Junior Netball League.

Katy Anglesea took the player of the match award for her part in helping to give the Diamonds an early lead before eventually going on to claim a 23-10 success.

Elsewhere in the U14s division, the Deeside Dixies put in a spirited performance but they were ultimately unable to prevent a 23-4 defeat to a fourth placed Mold Swifts side.

The Leader:

Deeside Dragonflies U13s, meanwhile, were ruthless in their 18-2 win over Wrexham Emeralds. Ruby Ellis was handed the player of the match award as she helped her team up to sixth in the league.

The U13s league leaders, Chester Blaze, were similarly emphatic in the first half of their top of the table fixture against a third placed Deeside Dace team.

After a fast start, Chester went into the break with a six-point lead and although Deeside fought back in the second period, the Blaze eventually took the points with an 18-13 win.

Deeside Dimples U10s were similarly unlucky as they narrowly lost out 6-4 to the Boughton Belle Mavericks who earned their first points of the season to put them level with the Dimples.

In the Under 9s division, Evie Hill starred in the Deeside Daredevils’ 3-0 victory over Holywell Heroes, while the Deeside Dynamos and Chester Romans played out a thriller elsewhere.

The Romans took a 5-2 lead into the half-time break before Darcie Bedford helped the Dynamos to pull it back to 5-5 soon after the restart. However, with the win there for the taking for either side, it was eventually the Romans who went on to claim an 8-5 victory.
