LLANDUDNO’s incredible Specsavers National League Division One North campaign continued with a thumping 96-0 victory over Dolgellau.

The defending champions were at their ruthless best during the one-sided affair, racking up no fewer than 16 times at Maesdu Road.

Skipper Dave Davies got the ball rolling with the first score of the game on five minutes, and this was swiftly followed by another from Byron Davies with eight on the clock. Ryan Pike despatched both conversion attempts.

The home side extended their advantage with a superb passing move that was finished off by Rhys Henderson on the quarter hour mark, which was converted by Pike, and Davies went over for his second try of the afternoon with 15 remaining of the first period.

Power play at the end of the half saw the Goats’ produce a series of excellent attacking display that saw Henderson complete his hat trick with two more touch downs, and Morgan Owen also got in on the act by crossing the white wash in style. Pike added two more points with a conversion.

This same pattern of play continued after the break, with Pike, Dan O’Sullivan and former RGC captain Kelvin Davies all scoring tries during the opening exchanges, and Henderson took his tally for the day to five with a pair of quick-fire scores with an hour gone.

Billy McQueenie crashed over following a surging Goats’ drive on 65 minutes which was converted by Nick Dundee, and the hosts closed out the game in style with tries from O’Sullivan, Rob Jones, Ed Weston and Jamie Rooney, with Dundee hitting three more conversions to complete the rout.

Nant Conwy also picked up a big victory on home soil to keep them in contention thanks to a 52-0 bonus point triumph over Llangefni, and Division Two North outfit Colwyn Bay emerged from their long trip to Newtown with an impressive 21-12 win.
