WREXHAM beat Solihull Moors 2-0 to register back to back wins for the first time this season and move out of the relegation zone.

First half goals by Omari Patrick and James Jennings sealed victory which came four days after Wrexham overcame Eastleigh by the same score.

Three points against high-flying Solihull also enabled Dean Keates' side to move out of the bottom four for the first time since the middle of October.

Keates named the same side that started Tuesday's much needed win at Eastleigh, although there was a change on the substitutes bench as Jazzi Barnum-Bobb replaced Devonte Redmond.

A tame Gavin Gunning shot was blocked after Wrexham fail to clear their lines as Solihull sounded out an early warning.

Wrexham's first sight of goal came in the 11th minute as Bobby Grant's low drive was saved by goalkeeper Ryan Boot.

But the Reds should have taken the lead following a counter attack as Paul Rutherford raced clear and picked out Grant whose effort was blocked by Boot.

However, Wrexham took the lead in the 21st minute following a good spell of keep-ball.

Omari Patrick cut inside from the left, beat his man and found the bottom corner of the net from the edge of the area.

Patrick continued to cause problems with his pace when he ran at the Moors defence but the visitors came close to levelling four minutes before the break as Jamey Osborne's free-kick struck the crossbar and the Reds cleared.

But Wrexham doubled their lead on the stroke of half time.

Paul Rutherford ran forward and laid off to James Jennings who found the top corner with an unstoppable shot from just outside the area.

Moors had a chance straight from the kick-off when the second half got underway as Jake Beesley ran clear but his effort was blocked by keeper Rob Lainton for a corner.

Wrexham responded by almost scoring a third goal as Akil Wright played in Grant who was denied by Boot.

Moors were quick to counter and Osborne's shot was deflected narrowly wide while Callum Howe's header from a long throw-in was saved by Lainton as Moors continued to press.

James Ball saw an effort blocked by Lainton for a corner and ex-Wrexham striker Wright fired wide in added time as the Reds held firm for another vital three points.
