AKIL WRIGHT refuses to get carried away with one victory and says Wrexham have to try and register two wins in a row for the first time this season in the fight against relegation.

The Reds went into the midweek clash at Eastleigh sitting bottom of the National League but Dean Keates' side ran out deserved 2-0 winners.

Fourth bottom Wrexham are now two points adrift of safety and Wright wants to build on the first away victory since April against high-flying Solihull on Saturday.

"We have still got belief in the camp," said Wright.

"We got the win but we are not getting carried away, we have got to push on.

"We have got a tough game on Saturday but we have momentum now. We can use this result and kick-on."

But Wright knows Wrexham can expect a tough test against Solihull who have climbed up to third position following a slow start to the campaign.

"Solihull was always going to be a tough game regardless of where we are in the league," said Wright.

"But we have got momentum from Tuesday and hopefully we can get another three points."

Two first half goals from on-loan winger Omari Patrick secured the win as Wrexham, who only took 20 points from the first 23 games, began the second half of the season on a positive note.

"Our away form has been terrible," said Wright.

"Eastleigh are doing well but we got a clean sheet and we scored goals as well, it was a good night.

"We have been working hard since the start of the season but results have not been going our way.

"But we have done that against Eastleigh and thankfully we got the three points."

Patrick was pushed into attack alongside leading scorer Bobby Grant and Wright saw the benefits of a two-man strikeforce.

"I think having two up top helps us attacking wise because having one kind of isolates players," said Wright.

"We will work hard regardless of the formation or whoever is playing and the tactics, and thankfully it worked on Tuesday."

Patrick's second goal came after Wright made a superb tackle to win possession and Grant supplied a telling through-ball for his strike partner.

"It is always nice to contribute to a goal," added Wright.

"Thankfully Omari hit the back of the net."
