BEN TOLLITT has endured a frustrating second loan spell at Wrexham but the winger feels he thriving on a run of games in the side.

The 24-year-old rejoined the Reds on a temporary basis in August but has been restricted to just four league starts under Bryan Hughes and his successor, Dean Keates.

Back in the team for Wrexham's last league game when they beat then-leaders Bromley 1-0 three weeks ago, Tollitt kept his place for the FA Cup first round tie against Rochdale, which ended in a goalless draw, and again featured from the start as the Reds lost 1-0 in Tuesday's replay.

Tollitt feels he has made the most of his chance and with Wrexham giving a good account of themselves against League One Rochdale, the Blackpool-man wants a repeat of those performances in the Reds' battle against relegation.

"Over the two games I would say we edged it," said Tollitt, who will hope to keep his place in the side when Wrexham face high-flying Yeovil at The Racecourse this afternoon.

"We had the better chances to go through and probably deserved it but they have scored from a corner.

"On a personal level, I felt like I played well in the first game against Rochdale but got brought off at half-time.

"On Tuesday, I just thought to myself 'carry that on' and I felt I had a good game.

"It has been my first couple of games for a while but that's the way football is.

"Sometimes you are in, sometimes you are not, but when you are in you have got to take your chance and I thought all of us played well at Rochdale.

"Hopefully we can take that performance, against a League One side as well, into the league.

"If we do then I don't see why we can't start climbing the league."

Tollitt found opportunities limited when he joined Wrexham last December but was a regular when Hughes was appointed manager in February and he helped the Reds emerge as title contenders before returning to Tranmere.

That spell at The Racecourse has parallels with his current stint.

"It feels exactly the same as it did last year," said Tollitt. "I came in and for the first month and a half, I wasn't really getting a game.

"I was coming off the bench here and there, and it was the same this season.

"But I have had a couple of games now and I am getting better and better so hopefully I can take that into the league, and help Wrexham get out of the relegation zone."

Keates is keen to strengthen his squad to give third from bottom Wrexham a boost in their bid to climb the table and that is something Tollitt welcomes, even if his own place comes under threat.

"Being in the relegation zone, sometimes it needs freshening up," said Tollitt.

"It is down to us to keep our shirt and fight for a place in the team.

"Hopefully you are the one that helps the team get out of the relegation zone.

"That is the aim but whether it is me, another attacking player, a defender or a goalkeeper who saves a penalty, you are not bothered as long as you get up the league."
