THE Deeside Devils and Demons could not be separated in their Division One derby clash in the North East Wales Netball Association (NEWNA) Senior League.

After drawing to top of the table Harlequins last time out, the second-placed Devils were once again denied victory albeit this time against their fourth placed local rivals, the Deeside Demons.

The two sides ended an enthralling match with the scores tied at 38-38 to ensure the points were shared, although the draw allowed other teams to close the gap between themselves and the Deeside duo.

Mold Dragon are now level on points with the Devils – but behind on goal difference – after their 66-44 victory over Holywell Hotshots.

North East Eagles are now up to fifth, and within a point of the Demons, thanks to their comprehensive 66-29 success over Deeside Deuce.

The Deeside derby draw also allowed Harlequins to extend their lead at the top of the league to five points after the league leaders defeated Colwyn Sports 55-41.

In the league’s only other fixture, Clinton James were ruthless in their 66-23 win over bottom of the table Holywell Hawks.

North Dragon Ignite continued to dominate Division Two as the table-topping side continued their perfect start to the season with a sixth straight success.

Ignite overcame Hope Hurricanes 50-34 to extend their lead at the top to four points after second placed North Dragons Inferno lost for the first time as Storms prevailed 51-45.

Buckley Jets capitalised on Inferno’s defeat by overcoming Deefire – a team combining Deeside Netball Club’s three U15s squads – with a 41-37 win.

Like the Jets, Mold Ravens are also now three points off second after they fought for a 47-39 victory over Hope Harriers. Elsewhere, Deeside Dazzlers were unable to prevent Flint Foxes from claiming a narrow 43-38 win.

Firebirds maintained their perfect record in Division Three as they defeated Holywell Highlights 45-24 to stay four points clear at the top.

Holywell Hurricanes stay second after crushing Mold Hawks 50-16, while Mold Swift were equally merciless in their 51-12 victory over Holywell Hustlers.

The only other fixture in the division saw Holywell Highfliers battle to a 32-28 win over Ruthin Ladies.

Division One teams return to action on Tuesday, while sides in Divisions Two and Three face their next fixtures at the beginning of December.
