OMARI PATRICK has vowed to excite supporters and help Wrexham pull clear of the relegation zone.

The winger has joined the Reds on loan from Bradford City on an initial month-long loan deal and is in line to make his debut against Yeovil at The Racecourse tomorrow.

Opportunities have been limited at Valley Parade this season - Patrick has only made two League Two substitute appearances and played four cup games - so he jumped at the chance to help third from bottom Wrexham climb the National League table.

"I am delighted to join Wrexham," said Patrick, who has trained with his new team-mates this week and saw the Reds lose 1-0 in Tuesday's FA Cup first round replay against Rochdale at Spotland.

"I have played here before and it is a good set-up.

"Everybody is so welcoming and I can feel a really good team spirit so that is good for someone like me to come in and try and do the best I can.

"It looks like a club that shouldn't be where they are and I am just looking forward to playing, getting some games under my belt and trying to express myself.

"I am on loan until January and whatever happens after that, we don't know, but I just need to focus from now until then and do my best for Wrexham."

Patrick, who joined Bradford in May 2017 after leaving Barnsley where he failed to make a first team appearance having signed from Kidderminster Harriers, is a pacy winger who can also play as a striker.

Although he is eager to get back to playing football matches, Patrick also hopes his loan spell benefits Wrexham.

"I am definitely an exciting footballer," said Patrick. "I like to play exciting football and get at my man.

"You will see a lot of pace from me and I will just try and help the team as much as I can.

"The main aim is to help the team first, try and climb up the table and get the club where it should be."

Patrick has struggled to force his way into the Bradford side this term with Gary Bowyer's Bantams currently among the League Two leaders.

But he believes his stint with Wrexham can lead to more chances at Valley Parade.

"It is a very good team and a very good set-up at Bradford so the competition is very high," added Patrick.

"The team is flying at the moment so sometimes it is how football goes.

"I was lacking game-time so I spoke to the gaffer, and then spoke to the gaffer here, and it was a good idea for me to come out on loan for a month or so and get some game-time here, get my confidence back up and maybe I can go back firing."
