LLANSANNAN reached the Normac Precision Engineering JT (Charlie) Jones Presidents Cup third round thanks to a 3-1 home triumph over Y Glannau.

The hosts started the game on the front foot and went ahead on 29 minutes when Gethin Vaughan found the net, but they were unable to add to their tally during the remainder of the first half despite dominating possession for large periods.

They finally increased their cushion following the interval when veteran striker Geraint Jones extended his fine run of recent form, but the visitors struck back soon after thanks to a Kyle Hulme strike with 53 gone.

Tom Lewis’ side ensured their passage to the next stage on 65 minutes when Vaughan notched his second of the tie, enabling them to see out the remainder of the contest in comfortable fashion.

Llysfaen produced the standout shock of the round as they sealed a 2-1 home win over Bro Cernyw.

The home side recovered well after falling behind early on through an Osian Roberts effort, with James Fallan and Ashley firing goals in the final 17 minutes to secure the upset.

A stunning second half fightback saw Llandudno Amateurs Reserves progress with a 5-4 home success against Llanfairfechan Town Reserves.

The hosts found themselves 4-1 down early in the second period thanks to goals from Harry Croston, Elliot Croston, Ryan Pope and Anthony Gustaff, but strikes from Joel Massam, Sean Sharp, an own goal and Morgan Davies in the final 11 minutes turned the tie on its head.

Llandudno Athletic’s progression was more comfortable thanks to a 6-1 home rout over Betws-y-Coed.

Nathan Williams was the star of the show for Rhys Lane’s side, netting four times to play a leading role in the win, with Lee Stokes hitting the net on two occasions to put the exclamation point on proceedings.
