THREE junior netball teams from Deeside have started their respective campaigns in the under 9s and under 10s age categories, while the older youngsters played their second games of the season.

A new Deeside Daredevils U9s side came out on top in their first fixture together as they fought to a 4-0 win over North Dragon Firefies, with Ruby Gregory picking up the player of the match award.

Despite putting in a spirited performance, Deeside Dynamos U9s weren’t quite able to match the result of the Daredevils as they lost out 6-2 against Ellesmere Port Rainbows.

The Dimples also began their campaign in the under 10s league and will have positives to take from their first game despite falling to a 12-2 defeat to Rhosnesni Rubies.

A new look under 11s Deeside Dice team featuring just three players from last season picked up a 6-3 win in their latest fixture against Rhosnesni Rollers, with Nicole Hill starring.

Hollie Owen was particularly impressive as she helped fire her Deeside Dots U12s side to a commanding 19-4 success over Boughton Belle Leopards to make it two wins from two.

Deeside Dace U13s also picked up their second win in a row as Lauren Olsen claimed the player of the match award in her team’s 28-8 victory against Ellesmere Port Tornadoes.

Despite a valiant performance from the Dragonflies in the same age category, Chester Blaze eventually prevailed 18-5.

But Deeside Doves U14s were ruthless as they stormed to a dominant 26-0 win over Boughton Belles Lions, with Charlotte Jones claiming the player of the match award.

The Diamonds were also in complete control of their under 14s league fixture against Rhosnesni Regals, ending the game with a commanding 29-3 victory. Nia Griffiths collected the player of the match award for her efforts in the game.

Elsewhere in the league, Deeside Dixies U14s were overcome by the Boughton Belle Tigers who claimed a 22-3 success.

Deeside Dominoes U15s were merciless in their 54-2 destruction of Boughton Belles Hotshots – a team playing a year above.

Sienna Jameson-Boyd picked up the player of the match award as the Welsh U14 champions scored 27 goals in both halves to end with an average of almost two goals a minute.

The Deeside DJs also came out with a win in their under 15s league clash as Darcy Hastings helped them overpower Wrexham Diamonds for a 19-6 success.

Elsewhere in the under 15s age category, the Deeside Darts endured a tough game up against Chester Wolves who stormed to a 34-2 victory.
