DANNY JELLICOE is confident Corwen’s luck will change if they keep doing the right things.

Corwen suffered a fifth defeat of the Cymru North campaign on Tuesday at Penrhyncoch, who snatched a 1-0 win.

But with the home side’s goalkeeper named man of the match, boss Jellicoe was happy to take the positives out of the performance heading into tonight’s trip to Guilsfield.

“We played really well,” said Jellicoe. “Both teams had good opportunities, but their goalkeeper got man of the match, which tells you everything you need to know.

“The encouraging thing is that we are creating chances, but at the moment we just aren’t taking them.

“Hopefully our luck will change, because we are competing in matches and we are creating chances to score, we just need one of them to go in.

“It is important for our confidence that we can get our noses in-front in matches.”

Jellicoe will be hoping the tide turns in Corwen’s favour at Guilsfield this evening.

He continued: “We are still confident, even if this is the toughest run I’ve been on as probably a player or a manager.

“It’s just tiny, tiny margins that we need to turn in our favour.

“We just need to keep doing what we have been doing and if we keep creating chances then it’s only a matter of time before they start to go in.”

Tom Williams (work) and Lewys Turner (ankle) could miss the trip for Corwen, who have seen Steve Watkins return to Mold Alex.
