LLANDUDNO Rugby Club standout Oscar Lennon has been named in the RGC squad for the upcoming season.

The talented back was brought into the senior fold earlier this summer and has made a considerable impression both during pre-season training sessions and friendly matches, earning him a spot in Matt Silva’s 35-man squad.

Lennon was one of the key contributors to the Goats’ exceptional Specsavers Division One North title last term, turning in a host of outstanding displays to lead his side to glory.

The Gogs’ will be skippered by centre Tom Hughes, who replaces departed Evan Yardley and promises to bring an awful lot to the role.

Hughes has been an ever-present for RGC throughout their meteoric rise to prominence since their inception, racking up more than 100 appearances and emerging as one of the club’s greatest ever players.

A host of familiar faces have also committed to the set-up, with the likes of Efan Jones, Dion Jones, Danny Cross, Billy McBryde, Joe Simpson and Robin Williams also set to play leading roles in any success that comes the way of the Indigo Group Premiership side.

Academy graduate Sam Earl-Jones is the latest of the conveyer belt to make the first team squad, and Dan Owen’s encouraging return from a serious knee injury is another massive boost.

Wales 7s vice-captain Afon Bagshaw brings a wealth of experience and talent to the side and will be a significant asset in the contests he is available for this term, and Tim Grey recently made a considerable impression as a member of the Cardiff Blues Academy side during the Celtic Cup.
