STEVE O’SHAUGHNESSY believes it’s only a matter of time before Airbus pick up their first points of the season.

The top-flight new boys have suffered defeats to Bala, Cefn Druids and Cardiff Met this term, but O’Shaughnessy has seen enough to be confident that better results are on the horizon.

“The lads are downbeat because they haven’t got points on the board, but it’s going to come,” said O’Shaughnessy, ahead of tonight’s home clash with Caernarfon, who he feels are a team his Wingmakers can try to emulate.

Sean Eardley’s Canaries finished in the top-six last season after winning promotion from the Cymru North.

“They’ve been fantastic and Sean has done really well there,” said the Airbus boss. “They’ve had great momentum and kept it going, so it’s going to be another tough game.”

Airbus were praised by Cardiff Met boss Christian Edwards after losing 1-0 to the Archers, the former Swansea defender believing that the Wingmakers deserved at least a point.

O’Shaughnessy felt the same, saying: “No points, but again I thought we were excellent.

“Against Druids we produced half a performance, but the Bala game and Cardiff Met I thought we were excellent.”

Caernarfon boss Eardley, meanwhile, is expecting Airbus to come out firing tonight.

He said: “They’ve had some tough results, but from what I gather, the performances have been there. They are at home under the lights and they are going to be buzzing.”

Fellow top-flight new boys, Penybont, could find themselves in the wrong place at the wrong time as they head to a TNS side that thumped Aberystwyth 10-1 on Monday.
