WHAT Connah’s Quay Nomads’ boss Andy Morrison would give for The New Saints attacking riches.

While Nomads were being held to their third successive draw of the season, Saints were thumping Aberystwyth 10-1 to bounce back from a surprise defeat to Bala Town in style.

Nomads were unable to get the better of Cardiff Met on the opening weekend, the Archers leaving Deeside with a 1-1 draw, and that result was repeated by the Old Gold yesterday.

Liam Thomas deflected a shot from Greg Walters into the Nomads net seven minutes into the second-half as visiting Carmarthen threatened to shock the hosts.

But Nomads were able to earn their third point of the campaign as Callum Morris finished off some good attacking play from John Disney to level in the 70th minute.

Try as they might, Morrison’s men were unable to find a winner and they followed up Friday’s goalless stalemate at Caernarfon with another draw.

Cefn Druids were also able to come away from Caernarfon with a point as they secured a 1-1 draw.

Druids headed into the encounter with four points from their opening two games as Huw Griffiths’ men followed up a goalless draw at Newtown with a 3-1 home success over Airbus.

And the Ancients remain unbeaten after Ryan Kershaw’s swerving long range shot found it’s way into the back of the Caernarfon net in the second-half.

Druids were on the back foot early in proceedings as Darren Thomas headed Caernarfon in-front, but the Ancients hit back to earn a share of the spoils.

There was no such luck for Airbus as they remain pointless on their return to the top-flight after losing 1-0 at Cardiff Met.

Chris Baker scored the only goal of the game in the 25th minute after a well-worked corner, taken by Dylan Rees.

The New Saints were at their ruthless best as they made light work of Aberystwyth.

Billy Whitehouse struck twice, with Jon Routledge, Dean Ebbe and Ryan Brobbel also on target as Saints led 5-0 at the break.

Owner Mike Harris tweeted that he wanted another five from his side in the second period, and Scott Ruscoe’s players delivered the goods.

Whitehouse completed his hat-trick, before four goals in the final minutes made it double figures, Greg Draper bagging a brace with Kurtis Byrne and Adam Hughes also netting.

Marc Williams gave the Aberystwyth fans something to celebrate with a goal early in the second period.

Bala were unable to follow up Friday’s 3-1 victory over The New Saints by beating Barry Town United - the duo playing out a 2-2 draw.

Colin Caton’s Lakesiders were forced twice battle back from a goal down as Lassana Mendes and Stuart Jones earned a point.

Drew Fahiya and Kayne McLaggon had put Barry in control, but the home side were unable to hold on.

Penybont earned their first point of the campaign as they held Newtown to a 1-1 draw.

On-loan Shrewsbury youngster Lifumpa Mwandwe scored Newtown’s goal.
