ANDREW THOMAS is hoping Airbus’s luck with key refereeing decisions will change - and quickly.

The Wingmakers felt aggrieved by some decisions for the second game running as they were beaten 3-1 at Cefn Druids on Friday night.

Assistant boss Thomas felt Druids’ penalty, from which Alec Mudimu scored to hand the home side a 2-1 lead, was harsh on his side, who had their own spot-kick appeals turned down.

And Curtis Strong is now suspended for this afternoon’s trip to Cardiff Met after receiving a second yellow card for dissent after running out of patience.

“I can’t wait for the head of refereeing to come in,” said Thomas, who was equally frustrated by Bala’s penalty in the opening night 2-1 defeat 10 days ago. “He was supposed to come in before the season, but we weren’t able to sort it out, so we are looking forward to seeing him.

“Decisions are costing us at the moment and the lads are getting frustrated.”

Jordan Evans had levelled against his former club as Airbus recovered from a slow start at The Rock, before the game went away from the Flintshire side.

Thomas is now looking forward to the trip to Cardiff Met, who were 3-1 winners at Penybont on Friday.

“It’s going to be tough,” said Thomas. “We went to watch them last weekend against Connah’s Quay and they are a good side.”

Strong is banned for the trip to the capital and Andy Owens is doubtful after needing stitches in a head wound, although Kristian Platt and Brady McGilloway could return to the squad.

Will Evans, Mael Davies and a penalty from Dylan Rees secured all three points for Christian Edwards’ Met at Penybont, who replied late on through Luke Borrelli’s spot-kick.

Bala Town head to Barry Town United today in the battle of the two teams with perfect starts to the campaign.

Chris Venables scored either side of a goal from Louis Robles as Bala stunned The New Saints 3-1, the reigning champions taking the lead through Dean Ebbe.

Saints will look to bounce back at Aberystwyth, who were beaten 3-1 at Barry on Friday.

Kayne McLaggon bagged a brace and Clayton Green struck the other goal for Barry.
