HOLYWELL TOWN head into Friday's game at Bangor City looking for some momentum after a stop-start season to date.

A poor campaign has seen the Wellmen collect just three wins from 14 games so far, a sequence that has left them 14th in the table.

Playing their first fixture since a 4-1 defeat at Porthmadog a fortnight ago, assistant manager Andy Lewis says performances are steadily improving but that the club needs to find form quickly.

He said: “There’s not much in it between the sides fighting it out at the bottom of the table.

“A couple of wins can really push a team out of trouble quickly and that’s something we need to target ourselves now.

“We’ve been knocked out of a couple of cup competitions already this season, so those weekends when you’re not playing can really disrupt your momentum.

“The games come thick and fast at this time of year and we’re looking to string a few results together now to push up the table.”

Bangor City manager Gary Taylor-Fletcher takes charge of his first home league game since being reappointed two weeks ago.

With City fourth in the standings, Lewis expects Taylor-Fletcher’s return to help them flourish in the second half of the season.

“Gary coming back in seems to have won back the fans at Bangor and I’m sure he’ll restore a bit of stability to the club” he added.

“We’re looking forward to testing ourselves against them under the lights.

“They’ve got a big following and we’ll take plenty of supporters with us too.

“Hopefully we can reward them with a positive result to take into the Christmas period.

Defender Tom Hartley is Holywell’ s only injury doubt for the game.
