AFTER Welsh Cup and Welsh Trophy ties took centre stage, places in the Welsh National League Premier Division Cup’s semi-finals are up for grabs on Saturday.

The top last-eight tie is at Clywedog Park where holders Brickfield Rangers entertain FC Nomads.

Joe Garner is definitely out for Rangers, who have seen Mike Platt head back to Holywell, while Ben Collins is rated doubtful.

Nomads are still without banned duo Paul Murphy and Jacob Wise but Lee Reynolds and Steve Hughes return.

Brymbo are going for glory on all fronts this season and will fancy their chances of knocking out Hawarden Rangers at home.

Jamie Smith is Brymbo’s only absentee while Lewis Cunliffe and George Thomas miss out for Hawarden, but Richard Evans and Steve Evans return and Dan Reece is lined up to make his debut.

Chirk AAA have the wrong kind of selection headache for their home derby with in-form Cefn Albion.

Chirk general manager Colin Heyward said: “Keeper Zac Bebbington has broken his arm, Phil Pearce is suspended, Jake Ellison is unavailable and there are also doubts over Aled Roberts and Lewis Clamp.”

Albion will be without influential defender Nathan Williams while Jimmy Jones and Conner Kendrick will require late fitness tests.

Confidence will be high in the Mold Alex camp after last week’s win against Brickfield.

But they head to Corwen without Kieran Price, Lewis Carter and Adam Renshaw, pictured.

Callum Freeman, Matty Roberts, Arron Davies and recent signing Alex Weatherby should all return against a Corwen side who have a doubt over captain Scott Evans.

Greenfield suffered penalty shoot-out heartbreak as they bowed out of the Welsh Trophy at home to Nantlle Vale last week.

They are back on the cup trail with a trip to Penmaenmawr Phoenix in the first round of the Mawddach Cup.

“We want to put the penalty shootout performance behind us,” said boss Scott Beck.

“Penmaenmawr can be a tricky place to go especially this time of year where the pitch can sometimes be a leveller. We have a near fully fit squad with Lee Emberton the only absentee.”

Other ties: Barmouth and Dyffryn v Llannerchymedd; Kinmel Bay v Glan Conwy; Llandudno Alb v Nantlle Vale; Llandudno Junction v Llanrwst; Llangenfi v Llanberis; Mochdre Sports v Meliden; Mynydd Llandegai v Amlwch; Penrhyndeudraeth v Holyhead Town; Pentraeth v Y Felinheli; St Asaph City v Gaerwen.

Places in the semi-finals of North East Wales’ President’s Cup are also the prize.

The top tie pairs title-chasers Flint Mountain and Acton where home advantage could be a big plus for the league leaders.

Penyffordd Lions head to Mold Town United, Bellevue host Connah’s Quay U18s while Bradley Park go to Caerwys.
