EDEN O'DEA was in top form for Wrexham AC at the latest North Staffordshire Cross Country League meeting.

Contesting the U17W race, O'Dea clocked 14:24 to finish in second place behind Staffordshire Moorlands namesake Eden Schiller (14:18).

Wrexham clubmate Ted Bolton was in action in the U15 Boys race and clocked 15:35 to place 21st in a 31-strong field.

Neil Edwards (46:32) was Wrexham's sole runner in the fill-length men's race, finishing well adrift of outright winner Hassan Ben Tiba of Keele University.

Ian James was the fastest Wrexham runner at the Snowdonia Marathon in Llanberis, clocking 3:20:47 to finish 94th outright and third fastest M55 runner.

He was followed over the line by clubmates Gwyn Roberts (3:28:10), David Ford (4:18:03), Richard Westwood (4:18:35) Jeremy Davies (4:34:59), Anna Moccia (4:57:19), Charles Ashley (5:06:22) and Rob Barber (5:50:20).

Deestriders runners were in outstanding form at the Flintshire 10k, where Mike Roberts took the honours with a winning time of 34:28.

He was followed across the finish line by Scott Nixon (37.52), Jay Jennions (42.12), Chris Stephens (43.10), Andrea Wadcock-Parr (47.15)

John Owen (49:07) Jenny Lewtey-Jones (53:44), Sarah Brown (56:28) and Heather MacDonald (1:04:53).

Further success for the club followed in the 5k as Nick Bartley (18:04) finished second outright, ahead of Neil Robinson (18.21), Paul Lewtey (22.17) and Mark Derbyshire (22.48).

At the challenging Clwydian Hills Race, Becky Massey finished third in the O40 section, with clubmate Christine Cammillare (2:02:00) not far behind.

Wrexham's Alyson Winn took on the Porth Eirias 10K in Colwyn Bay, where she posted a time of 1:15:01 to place 205th outright.

Further afield Wrexham duo Yricka Gardner (3:03:57) and Karen Owens (3:24:51) took on the Ibiza Trail Half Marathon in San Antonio.

The latest Erddig ParkRun saw Wrexham AC junior runner Harvey Davis (21:43) finish ninth fastest, with fellow youngster Ella Davis running a creditable 24:10 to place 21st.

Phil Walker (25.59),Peter Hughes (26.18),Peter Norman (35.48), John Tipping (37.18)Karl Moore (38:38), Helen Egan (1:00:13) and

Arthur Egan (1:00:13) were also among the finishers.

Deeside teenager Euan Coney (19:54) was fastest at Wepre ParkRun, with clubmates Daniel Parkinson (20:41) and Stephen Jolly (20:56) finishing third and fifth respectively.

Wrexham's Mike Robbins (22:37) was 10th, with Buckley Runners pair Lee Wasnidge (23:40) and Dave Boothroyd (23:55) finishing either side of Deesider Thomas Molloy (23:48).

Forming part of the North Wales Championships, the Abergele Five Mile Road Race takes centre stage on Sunday and gets underway at 11am from its Pensarn starting point.
