Breaking league records is of 'no interest' to Airbus' players and staff, according to assistant manager Andy Thomas.

The unbeaten Wingmakers are in outstanding form after 11 successive league victories and already boast a healthy 12-point lead on nearest rivals Flint.

But Thomas dismissed the idea his side were out to challenge Rhyl's season-long unbeaten streak over 30 games in 2012/13.

He said: "That's not something we're even thinking about to be honest - we've no interest in looking to match those kind of records right now.

"It's a great run we're on and people will talk about going all season unbeaten, but we can't afford to look too far ahead.

"It's boring to say it, but the reason we've done so well this season is down to putting all our focus into winning the next game.

"If we stop doing that and get ahead of ourselves then we'll be punished."

Denbigh Town visit the Airfield on Saturday, with Thomas pleased with the strength in depth available to him and manager Steve O'Shaughnessy this term.

He said: "There's quality right throughout the squad this season.

"That's allowed us to alternate a lot in attack, where we've got four good strikers all desperate to be involved.

"We might look at freshening things up after the Buckley game and it's good to have those kind of options available to us."

Defender Danny Taylor has returned to training after an injury lay-off and should make the squad tomorrow.

Dan Moore is determined not to let a dispiriting defeat derail Buckley Town's positive start to the season.

The Town boss was left frustrated by the manner of last week's 2-1 home reverse to Airbus, the visitors netting twice in the final seven minutes to snatch victory.

The Flintshire club remain fourth in the Alliance standings and Moore is determined to keep his side there with a victory at home to Rhyl.

He said: "It was a tough one to take. I wouldn't have minded if Airbus had been the much better team and outplayed us, but that wasn't the case at all.

"After getting ourselves ahead we let it slip late in the game with two bad pieces of defending and paid the price.

"But the important thing is that we learn from that result and the reasons why we lost the game without dwelling on it too much.

"The Rhyl game is a chance for us to bounce back by putting in another strong performance at home and hopefully getting the right result this time.

"I've watched Rhyl recently and have a pretty good idea how they'll set up against us.

"They're doing well now after winning their last three, but they've had to come through a sticky patch this season and will want to keep this current good run going."

Moore can select from a full-strength squad for tomorrow's clash at the Globe.

Flint Town United are braced for a 'tough afternoon' at rejuvenated Prestatyn Town, says Niall McGuinness.

The Silkmen boss was left underwhelmed by Flint's shaky performance in the 1-0 home win over Gresford last weekend and insists his side must do better against the Seasiders.

Since returning to the club three weeks ago, Neil Gibson has revived the ailing club's fortunes and inspired a 3-0 victory against Conwy Borough last weekend.

McGuinness said: "It's going to be a tough afternoon for us down there I'm sure, because Neil has already started to turn things around down there.

"I watched them a couple of weeks ago and was impressed with them.

"For me they're in a false position in the table and I know results will pick up under him.

From our point of view though we need to better than we showed in the Gresford game, where we struggled to stick to the game plan and ended up nicking it late on.

"It's pleasing that we can win ugly in this division, but the performance levels need to be much better."

Defensive pair Myles Hart and Andy Brown are both injury doubts for Flint, while forward Jack Higgins could return.

John Haseldin believes the fortunes of his Holywell Town side are gradually improving.

After seeing his side claw back a two-goal deficit in the draw with Guilsfield last week, the Wellmen boss hailed the 'spirit' of his players.

Speaking ahead of their trip to Holyhead Hotspur, Haseldin maintains that his side will quickly improve on their current league position of 14th.

He said: "There has been a big turnaround of players here in the last couple of weeks and a few new faces in the squad.

"There's quality here and against Guilsfield there was certainly plenty of effort on our part.

"We need to find those levels of consistency where the quality and effort are there for the full 90 minutes and the results will come.

"Holyhead is a massive game.

They're not far behind us in the league and they're always difficult to play against when they're at home.

"The weather and the pitch up there can make things really difficult for visiting teams, so we'll have to adapt quickly and make sure we're on our game to come away with the points."

Wellmen midfielder Tony Roebuck is suspended for the game.

Gresford Athletic boss Steve Halliwell will turn to the club's reserves to solve his goalkeeping crisis for their game at Ruthin on Friday night..

First choice keeper Ben Jones sustained a broken nose in the opening minute of last weekend's defeat at Flint, with defender Joe Davies forced to deputise in goal.

And without a fit back-up keeper this week, Halliwell is set to draft Mike Price in from the club's second string.

The Colliers boss said :"It is a blow to lose Ben in the way we did.

"It was a bad knock and he's come off badly from the challenge so we'll need to bring Mike in, which will leave the reserves short for their game.

"It's never easy to lose a game in the way we did at Flint, with us missing a penalty too, but we have to put it behind us for the Ruthin game.

"They're always disciplined and well-organised and the fact they've kept hold of Llyr Morris up front is great for them.

"He's a massive threat, but we'll go there looking to play positively and try to take the game to them."

Full-back Ben Burrows returns for Gresford along with midfielder Joe Newton.

Fourth-placed Bangor City are at home to Llanrhaeadr this weekend, while Penrhyncoch head to Conwy Borough and Guilsfield host Porthmadog.
