ANDY MORRISON has warned Bala Town to expect to face full-strength Connah's Quay Nomads gunning for a place in the semi-finals.

Nomads continue to fight on four fronts with the Scottish Challenge Cup added to the domestic trio of competitions, but Morrison is eager to book a last four spot at Maes Tegid tomorrow night.

Pointing to a strong squad, which was without George Horan, Jonny Spittle and Craig Jones for the goalless draw at Caernarfon on Friday, Morrison said: "I'm looking forward to it.

"We've had a few players coming back that have been out injured for a while and they will get a chance to play.

"We will be ready for it. The lads want to play, they can't wait to get out there.

"I've said to them that it's eight, nine or 10 games where they've been exceptional. I think it's one defeat, a draw and seven wins in nine games, they are in a rich vein of form.

"They will all want to play and we will be going as strong as we possibly can because I want to go as far as I can in the competition.

"There will have been a few lads on the bench that will be a bit frustrated that they aren't on the pitch taking the chances we are creating."

Morrison could hand starts to the likes of Michael Wilde, Michael Bakare and Nathan Woolfe as he looks to end a two-game goalless run.

The Nomads boss is frustrated by a lack of cutting edge, saying: "You can put on as many finishing drills as you want, but it's about decision making and doing the right things when you are under pressure at the key moment.

"To re-enact that in a training session is very difficult because it's in the game where you are asked questions."

Hosts Bala Town are equally determined to reach the semi-finals of the competition, according to coach Stephen Fisher.

"They are another good side," said Fisher, who saw Bala beaten 1-0 at home by Barry Town United at the weekend.

"These are the games you relish. You play football to play in big games.

"It's a quarter-final and it's a great opportunity to get to a semi-final.

"We will be going all out to try and win the game."

Holders The New Saints continue the defence of their trophy with a trip to Llandudno tomorrow.

Saints, who have won the competition for the last four years, won't be taking Iwan Williams' goal-shy side lightly, however.

"We've won it for the last few years and we want to win it again," said Saints boss Scott Ruscoe.

"Llandudno are in a false position in the league, so we won't be taking anything for granted."

Newtown, who face Cefn Druids in the top-flight on Friday, head to Cambrian & Clydach tomorrow night, while Cardiff Met entertain Haverfordwest County.
