Deeside AC youngsters were in outstanding form once again at the latest North Wales Cross Country League meeting in Colwyn Bay.

Harri Evans blitzed his way to top spot in the U17M race as his winning time of 19:32 put him 10 secoonds clear of Menai runner-up Aled Jones.

Huw Jones stormed to victory in the U15M race, clocking 14:32 to see off the challenge of Maldwyn runner Oliver Jones (14:45) and fellow Deesider Matthew Anthony (15:41).

Neisha Roberts (11:56) earned a second-place finish in the truncated U15W race with her Deeside clubmate Ellie Small (12:120) taking third.

There was more podium joy for Deeside as Maddy James (9:00) finished second in he U13W race, before Josphine Hirst (7:21) pipped team mate Orla Kissane (7:41) to top spot in the U11W event.

Thomas Molloy (8:58) kept up the club's top-three habit, finishing second in the U11M race.

North east Wales runners impressed in the senior races too with Deesider Lee Jones (35:21) and Buckley Runers man Jez Brown (35:28) finishing ninth and 10th respectively.

Buckley's Elliot Cox (36:14) was 14th, ahead of clubmates Phil Pumford (37:40) in 25th and Chris Callaghan (38:05) in 29th.

Wrexham AC pair Gareth Chaloner (38:19) and Mike Robbins (42:08) also impressed in a 160-strong field.

Chaloner fared better at the Flintshire 5K in Mold as his time of 18:14 to win the M35 category and place third outright.

Buckley's Andrew Peers (41:31) placed 18th in the 10k race, just ahead of clubmate Jen Adams 941:36) who was the fastest female finisher on the day.

Further down the field were Buckley trio Glyn Hughes (43:44), Paul McManus (45:15) and Greg Hunt (45:25).

Wrexham AC members were among the hundreds of runners in action at the British Fell Relays in Grasmere.

Ryan Davis ran the opening leg, before Joel Gomes, Luke Northall, Peter Hughes, Charles Ashley and Ifan Oldfield took up the remainder of the course.

The North Wales group posted a cumulative time of 5:37:32 at the event as they placed 143rd outright from the 239 participating teams.

Fellow Wrexham AC member Kai Walsh excelled at the Clwydian Hill Races 7k as he took the U16B race honours with a time of 44:31.

The latest Erddig ParkRun saw Wrexham junior Iwan Morris finish fifth fastest with a time of 20:33, with clubmate Callum McGrath (23:17) sneaking into the top 20 finishers.

Deesider Stephen Jolly (21:10) was second fastest at the Wepre ParkRun, where Buckley man Daniel Hughes (25:26) was 20th.

Further afield, Wrexham AC's Ian James took on the Munich Marathon and clocked an impressive (3:04:27).

This weekend's race action centres around the Snowdonia Marathon, which starts at 10.30am on Saturday from Llanberis.

At noon on Saturday, North Wales club runners will be involved at the North Staffordshire Cross Country League meeting in Stafford.
