Corwen are the new leaders of the Welsh National League's Premier Division after flooring Hawarden Rangers 5-1.

Harry Poole broke the deadlock before Sam Evans hit a double and Iorweth Jones and Ryan Davidson also scored. Adam Poole replied for Rangers.

Llay Welfare boss Mike Gadie was delighted by the 1-0 win over Chirk AA and said: "Skipper and man of the match Jack Edwards scored and led by example. Attitudes were spot on and we managed to grind out a win.”

FC Nomads were given a lesson in finishing by Brymbo who cruised to a 5-1 success.

Jake Prescott, Jamie Cummings, Billy New and two Ben Kearney goals won it for Brymbo with Brynley Preece replying for Nomads, who were reduced to 10 men late on.

Lex XI were without seven regulars as they were beaten 4-1 by Cefn Albion.

Alex Williams' hat-trick set Cefn on their way with a wonder strike from Callum Taylor securing the points. Craig Hughes bagged Lex's consolation goal.

The best result of the day was Penycae's 1-0 win at Llanuwchllyn.

Queens Park fell behind to a Steve Watkin strike against Mold Alexandra but bounced back to win 3-1 through 18 year old Harry Gregory, Mikey Latham and Matty Williams.

Rhos Aelwyd shared a 2-2 draw Saltney Town who took an early led through Tom Chrimes and added to their account through Rabeh Jumaa. But Aelwyd stayed in touch through Jamie Rogers and James Haynes who squared the match in the 3rd minute of stoppage time.

In the outstanding Premier Division League Cup game, Rhostyllen failed to contain cup holders Brickfield Rangers who edged though 4-0.

In the match of the day in Division One. it lived up to its top billing but Llangollen were left kicking themselves after throwing away a 2-0 lead carved out by Ben Wilson and Josh Langford but visitors Plas Madoc turned this clash on its head to win 3-2 with strikes from Nicky Williams who weighed in netted a double salvo and Richard Lawrence.

Coedpoeth slumped to a 6-1 defeat against Rhydymwyn who managed to score a hat-trick of penalties , something I last remember ex Wrexham manager Ken Barnes once achieving for Man City. Putting the game out of reach were Scott Nelson and Matt Gilsenan(2). Firing a lone consolation goal was Ben Palmer.

Johnstown narrowly went down 3-2 against Castell Alun who shaded this encounter with goals from Dan Woosey on his debut, Scott Williams and a last gasp winner from Tom Adams. The hosts response came from Josh Jones and a rasping 30 yard shot from Dewi Reeves.

Mynydd Isa Spartans narrowly went down 1-0 against New Brighton Villa who secured the games only goal through Steve Orsler.

In the Reserves Division, a narrow 1-0 win for Mold Alex against Hawarden Rangers keeps them top, Cal Lavell grabbed the games only goal in the 53rd minute.

Brickfield Rangers shared six goals and the points with Chirk AAA’s in a 3-3 draw and netting for the visitors were Curtis Barber(2) and Joe Roberts after Phil Carr and Sam Giles(2) had the hosts in front.

Cefn Druids struggled initially to overcome Queens Park but strikes from Kane Frost, Efan Woodall had them all square at 2-2 to enable Harry Lucas to see them over the line with a late winner to achieve a 3-2 success.

Gresford Athletic proved too strong for Corwen and they cantered home 5-1, making up their nap hand were Hugh Jones, Jack Delgado, Jordan McArthur, Jake Ayre and Matty Harden.

Goals from Tom Mann and Tom Watkin Jones(2) enabled Ruthin Town to topple Buckley Town 3-0.

In the Reserves and Colts Division, Holywell Town and Penycae share poll position, the Wellmen defeated Mynydd Isa 4-3 but only after Jake Cooke bagged a last gasp winner after opening his account before the break. Adding to their tally were Nathan Williams and Jake Cooke with a fine solo goal.

Level at the top are Penycae who floored Overton 7-2, on target were Ben Richardson(2), Tom Legg, Tom Edwards with a treble and Ruben Monteiro all after Overton had led 2-0.

Cefn Mawr Rangers fought out a thrilling 2-2 draw with Brymbo whose efforts from Lewis McNamara and Callum Evans were cancelled out by Ryan Harden and Jason Williams.

Llay Welfare panned Llangollen Town 5-0 and making up their nap hand were hat-trick hero Kev Hope, Aiden Fox and Ryan Sadler.

New Brighton Villa chalked up a comfortable 5-1 success over Coedpoeth Utd and their marksmen were hat-trick hero Adam Funnell, Ben Hughes and Lewis Jones from the penalty spot. Responding for ‘Coedy was Aaron Taylor.

Rhydymwyn were worthy 5-1 winners against Johnstown and on target were Jack Sullivan(2), Charlie Bradley and Macauley Cooper who added to an own goal.

Also hitting the 5 goal mark were Ruthin Town who defeated Cefn Albion 5-1 thanks to efforts from Owen Cordiner(2), Osian Audley, Murray Hughes and Elgan Hughes. Firing the lone consolation goal was Lewis Edwards.
