FORMER Wrexham midfielder Steve Leslie has signed for Welsh Premier League outfit Newtown.
The 30-year-old was Andy Morrell's first signing as Wrexham manager when he made the move to The Racecourse in January 2012.
Leslie made 13 appearances for Wrexham as they were beaten in the National League play-offs by Luton, before he left to join Telford.
The Glasgow-born former Shrewsbury Town man, who has since played for the likes of Worcester City and Solihull Moors, has now opted to join Newtown.
Robins boss Chris Hughes is pleased to have signed Leslie, saying: “This window we’ve managed to bring in experienced and quality players, and Steve will only add to that.
“Having that many football league and non league appearances under his belt shows the quality he has.
“He will add to what we already have, and his experience is going to be a big plus for us.”
