GRESFORD did what the rest of the Premier Division have been unable to do as they beat table topping Menai Bridge by seven wickets.

It was the Daniel Williams (5-19) and Chris Ellwood (3-34) show with the ball as Menai's decision to win the toss and bat fell flat, Gresford bowling the hosts out for just 122.

Matthew Thompson (48) and Sam Thompson (27) got the Gresford reply off to the perfect start as they put on 56 for the first wicket.

Ellwood (18 not out) and Williams (14no) combined to see Gresford home once both openers and Matthew Cree had been dismissed.

Brymbo were unable to take advantage of Menai's first loss of the season as they were beaten by 86 runs by Llandudno.

Without the likes of captain James Claybrook, Dan Parry, Matty Turner and Joss Roberts, Brymbo were made to toil in the field as Llandudno posted 328 for five, Matthew Jones hitting an unbeaten 122 and Will Sissons adding a 58-ball 82.

Greg King (53), Connor Davies (47) and Ben Roberts (39) were all in the runs for Brymbo, but no-one kicked on and the home side were bowled out for 242, Sissons bagging 5-51.

Connah's Quay continued their battle to avoid relegation with a seven-wicket home success over rock-bottom Chirk.

Wynn Jones (35) and Chris Prichard (23) were the main run scorers as Chirk were bowled out for 135, which was helped along by 26 extras, Martin Burger (4-34) and Scott Adams (3-25) combining with the ball.

Quay needed just 82 balls to knock off the runs needed for victory, Burger hitting 76 not out after Matt Redinger had struck 41.

Northop showed that they can mix it with the league's big boys away from home as they beat Bangor by three wickets.

The trio of Ben Beaver (4-39), Mark Poynton (3-27) and Bart Beswick (2-33) impressed as Northop bowled Bangor out for 168.

Darren Williams (41) set the tone for the Northop reply at the top of the order, before Beaver (37no) and Danny Nicholson (29no) saw their side home with 13 balls to spare.

Hawarden Park put up a fight as they were beaten by five wickets at Pwllheli.

The Flintshire side were bowled out for just 89, Jared Bennett top scoring with 22, before making the hosts work for their win.

Captain Ian Martin took two wickets, including an impressive caught and bowled, as Pwllheli used up 34 overs of their reply before securing the win.

St Asaph (162-9) held their nerve to beat Denbigh (158-7) by one-wicket off the final ball of the match.

Pontblyddyn continued their Division One title challenge with a three-wicket home win over Abergele.

Ryan White (3-26), James Birch (2-26) and Darren Wilcock (2-38) impressed as Abergele were bowled out for 180.

Ali Roberts (39) and Ben Mason (38) set the tone for Pontblyddyn, who saw Rhys Jones get them over the line with a quickfire 22 not out.

Mold failed to do Pontblyddyn a favour as they were beaten by 41 runs at the hands of leaders Bethesda.

Richard Crane (4-26), Richard Deniz (3-27) and Kyran Van Der Kooij (2-28) helped Mold to bowl Bethesda out for 183.

That total proved beyond Mold as only Duane Williams (46) and George Deniz (41) troubled the scorers, the Flintshire bowled out for 142.

Llay Welfare (89) were comfortably beaten by 120 runs at home to Dolgellau (209-6), while Bersham (102) lost by six wickets to Conwy (105-4).

James French (130) and Matthew Humphreys (105no) led Mochdre (293-3) to a 175-run success at Llanrwst (118).
