Wrexham Women will make their competitive return to action in the North Wales Women's League next season.

The reformed club had their place in the division rubber-stamped at the League's AGM and will face the likes of Northop Hall and Airbus next term.

Former members of the Welsh Premier Women's League, the Reds withdrew in 2015/16 citing a lack of players.

But head coach Luke Wynne and assistant Steve Howsam will now take charge of the new-look side who will play home games at Penycae's Riverside ground.

Pre-season preparations are already well underway, with five away fixtures scheduled throughout August.

A trip to Midlands Division One side TNS Ladies on August 5 precedes games against Airbus, Chester, Shrewsbury Town, and Denbigh.

Wynne said: "We've chosen to play teams from both England and Wales. This will give us different types of tests and we'll come up against different styles of play.

"There are teams from the league we'll be competing in to get an understanding of what we have to come, as well as teams from England giving us a chance to compare our game with them.

"Overall I'm very happy with what we have arranged and am looking forward to testing the team."
