RGC Women’s star Jess Kavanagh-Williams helped the Welsh national team to a strong showing at an international tournament.

The pacey back contributing significantly to Wales securing Plate glory at the Women’s 7s Grand Prix Series, which was held in Marcoussis, France last weekend.

The Welsh side began the tournament with a narrow 15-14 win over Poland, and they continued their positive momentum with a fantastic display to triumph 25-12 over Scotland.

This was nor replicated in their encounter against Ireland in a disappointing 45-0 loss, and they concluded the group stage of the competition with a hard-fought 26-14 reverse at the hands of rivals England.

Wales were then put into the Plate section of the draw once all the points had been accumulated, and Scotland were once again the opponents in the semi-final stage.

The tie was once again hotly contested throughout, with the Welsh Women holding firm in the closing stages to secure a 26-24 triumph and book their place in the final.

They saved their best performance for last and completely dominated Belgium with a scintillating display of attacking rugby that saw them emerge victorious 29-0.

Kavanagh-Williams has been a huge part of the Gogs’ rise to prominence last season, where they came within touching distance of debut success in the Regional competition against high-profile sides such as Scarlets and Ospreys.
