The 2018 Buckley Town Junior Football Tournament was another overwhelming success, with more than 70 teams in action.

Home side Buckley Vipers triumphed in the Under 10 section, edging past Gresford in the final to lift the trophy.

Hawarden lost out in the U7 final showdown against Victoria Colts, with Mold's U8 side also finishing as beaten finalists to Cheshire's Waverton Wasps.

Gresford prevailed in the U9 competition as they capped a memorable weekend by beating MCA Reds, while Ewloe Harriers took the U11 honours after despatching runners-up Llandudno.

Johnstown Youth are recruiting new talent this summer and are hoping to attract new players from U10 through to U15 level.

U14 manager Derwyn Poole said: "We are after some new players for next season to keep our numbers up

"We really struggled at times this year and want a full squad ready for the league season that starts in September.

"We're also hoping to have U10s, U11s and under u15 sides next season too, and all of these sides are looking for extra players."

Training sessions run every Wednesday from 5:45pm until 7pm on Johnstown Circle (Heol Kenyon).
