Connah's Quay Nomads have secured the signing of vastly experienced defender Laurence Wilson from Bangor City.

Former Chester full-back Wilson was one of the league's standout performers last season for the Citizens, whom he joined in August 2016, making over 40 appearances for Bangor in his time with the club, after making his debut in a 2-1 victory over Cefn Druids.

Prior to his arrival at Bangor, Wilson had played at Mansfield Town, Chester City, Morecambe, Rotherham United and Accrington Stanley, having originally started his career as an Everton youth player.

Wilson was a runner up in the 2005 European Under-19 Championship when England lost out to France and had previously been capped at Under-18 level for the Three Lions.

Wilson arrives in Deeside with over 300 career appearances to his name and will bring a wealth of experience with him.

Nomads boss Andy Morrison said: "We're delighted to bring in Laurence. His experience and quality will bring a different dimension to our offensive play."
